DeJaye (DeMont Jefferson)
Minister of Music • Worship Leader • Psalmist • Communicator of God’s Word
DeJaye, born DeMont Jefferson, is a gifted worship leader, musician, and psalmist whose life and ministry are dedicated to connecting people to God through the power of music and the Word. Anointed to shift atmospheres and stir hearts, DeJaye brings a unique blend of passion, authenticity, and spiritual insight to every platform he stands on.
His musical journey began in the Church of God in Christ at the age of 14, where he developed his gift for playing the keyboard under the mentorship of his cousin, Maestro Garlan McCruter. After surrendering his life to Christ at 18, he answered the call to ministry and began using his musical gifts to glorify God.
While attending Wilberforce University, he founded the New Voices in Praise Gospel Choir and the male vocal group 1 Accord, both of which became powerful tools for ministry on campus and beyond. In 1999, he relocated to California, where he was mentored by Bishop Kenneth Wells and Bishop Phillip Powell, and has since served as Minister of Music and Worship Leader in several impactful ministries.
DeJaye has ministered alongside gospel greats such as Marvin Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, and Brent Jones. His music—featured on albums like The Gospel According to Soul and The Good News Is…—reaches across generations, blending timeless gospel truth with a soul-stirring sound that ministers to the heart.
A devoted father and servant, DeJaye’s ministry continues to reach beyond church walls with a message of hope, salvation, and God’s unconditional love. His heart remains steadfast: to lead God’s people into authentic worship and prepare them for an encounter with the living God.
